Your Stopover in Manila

The majority of international flights coming into the Philippines arrive in Manila. The city is a good stop-over for a few nights when you arrive or before you depart.

Manila is a huge bustling cosmopolitan Asian city with a large array of shops, malls, restaurants, clubs and bars. Manila is composed of quite distinctive areas; Intramuros is the old walled area of the town and it is still possible to walk along the walls and visualise how this historical part of the city once looked. Binondo contains Chinatown, the streets and alleys of this area provide a fantastic experience for food lovers. Malate and Ermita districts are popular for students and tourists and run on to the Bay of Manila. Makati is perhaps the heart of the city and contains the Central Business District and the best hotels, restaurants and nightlife.

We have selected four hotels as options for your stay in Manila and all are situated fairly close to each other in modern Makati. All our featured hotels are a very short walk or taxi ride to the best known shopping malls, Greenbelt and Glorietta. Greenbelt is one of the finest malls in Asia and has a good number of excellent wining and dining establishments – most of which have outdoor seating. International cuisine available includes Filipino, Thai, Greek, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish. For night owls there are a wide range of bars and clubs that play great music and stay open until the small hours.

Within Makati there are also a number or cinemas, theatres, museums, parks, hospitals and farmers markets. Our office is also located here and you are welcome to call in if you need assistance or advice.

Makati is a place to see and be seen, much of the enjoyment here is just in watching the world go by. Most of the country’s major business and financial institutions are based in Makati as are many of the overseas Embassies and Consulates. Getting around is easy – simply walk or take taxis. We can also provide city tours if required.

Journey time from either the international or domestic airport to Makati is between 20 minutes and 1 hour depending on the vagaries of Manila’s traffic flow.
